Lefkada, or Leucas or Leucadia, λευκαδα in Greek, is a Greek island in the Ionian sea on the west coast of Greece. It is very easy to reach the island of Lefkada. The island is connected to the main land by a long causeway and floating bridge. It is very easy to travel there:

By Air
Aktion National Airport located in Prevaza is only 30km away. It takes 40 minutes to travel by car from the capital of the Island which is also called Lefkada.

By Car
It is convenient to drive to Lefkada by car from most of the areas in Greece. In about 2 hours from Igoumenitsa, the port city where arrive ferries from Italy, you can reach Lefkada. It is also very easy to travel from the major cities in Greece: 5 hours to drive from Athens, 6 hours from Sparta, and 4,5 hours from Thessaloniki. The road condition is very good.

By Bus
KTEL buses offer daily services from and to Athens (378 km) and from to Thessaloniki (420 km).

By Sea
Built in 2002, Lefkada Marina has total capacity of 620 yachts of up to 45 meters in length and 4 meters draught. Moreover, there are dry docking facilities for approximately 280 boats. It is possibly one of the most modern marinas of the Mediterranean.
Connection with the surrounding islands
From Nydri and Vassiliki there are daily ferry boat services to Meganissi, Kefalonia (Fiskardo), Ithaka (Frikes). From Nydri port there are cruise tours visiting the surrounding islands and some beaches which are hard to reach on foot or by car.
Lefkada has some of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean Sea. Porto Katsiki, Egremni and Kathisma are the most famous for their beauty while Agios Ioannis and Vassilikiare great for windsurfing and other water sports. There are lots of other beaches which give you plenty options to explore. The beach in our lovely town, Nikiana, is located on the way from the main town to Nydri. It has shallow, crystal water and white sand. It is an excellent beach for families with young children.
